Sitka
National Historical Park returned to its summer schedule on May
6th, bringing seasonal changes in the park's hours of operation,
parking and fees. Now through September 30th, visitors to Sitka
National Historical Park pay a $4.00 fee when they enter the facility
housing the National Park Service Visitor Center and the Southeast
Alaska Indian Cultural Center, or take a guided tour of the Russian
Bishop's House. The park's $15.00 Family Pass - good for one year
from the month of purchase - is also available. This pass is honored
at both the Visitor Center and the Russian Bishop's House and is
valid for the purchaser and their immediate family. Other than the
passes, fees for the Visitor Center and Russian Bishop's House are
separate. Visitors are required to pay $4.00 per person at each
location. Fees are not required for children under 13 years of age
or non-recreational users, including persons doing business with
the Southeast Alaska Indian Cultural Center. New this year is a
comprehensive inter-agency pass, "America the Beautiful - National
Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass" for access to lands managed
by the National Park Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau
of Land Management, the Bureau of Reclamation, and the USDA Forest
Service may be purchased and is accepted at the park. Previously
existing passes including the Golden Eagle, Golden Age, Golden Access
Passports, and the National Parks Pass remain valid until expired,
lost, or stolen. For more information about the interagency pass
program, visit http://www.nps.gov/sitk/planyourvisit/feesandreservations.htm
or ask at the front desk of the park visitor center. Fees collected
support the programs and facilities of both the park and the cultural
center. Use of park trails and restrooms and attendance at ranger-guided
