Volunteers
Needed for Visitor Study Project
The National
Park Service is seeing several volunteers to conduct a Visitor Study
in Denali National Park and Preserve during the period of August
17, 2006. The purpose of the study is to gain new insights
regarding visitor expectations, opinions and interests pertaining
to their experience in Denali. The information gathered will be
used to improve management of the park and provide better services
for park visitors.
The volunteers
will contact approximately 1000 visitors during a one week period
at multiple locations in the entrance area of the park and along
the park road corridor. Each contact is expected to take about ten
minutes. The typical work day will be approximately eight hours.
The volunteer period is for only 3-4 days, not the entire length
of the survey.
Park housing
is not available, but a campsite for a tent or RV will be provided
either in the park or in a nearby campground.
For further
information please contact Volunteer Coordinator Mark Motsko at
