The Denali Park Road is now open
for travel by private vehicles to the Teklanika Rest Stop at Mile
30, weather and road conditions permitting. It will remain open
to Teklanika until snow closes it for the season at park headquarters.
Visitors are advised to call ahead to check on the status of the
road, as the weather may change rapidly at this time of the year.
Park facilities west of the headquarters (Mile 3), such as campgrounds
and restrooms, are closed for the season. The Visitor Center is
currently open from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and will close for the
season after business on Saturday, September 25. A loop of the Riley
Creek Campground at Mile 1 is kept open for the winter, but the
water has been turned off for the season. A chemical toilet is provided
for campers and water can be obtained at park headquarters. Gas,
food service and lodging is available in the communities of Healy
and Cantwell year-round. Visitor information can be obtained from
8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily at park headquarters or by calling (907)
