The
National Park Service protects national treasures - wilderness and
wildlife, historic places and the remains of ancient civilizations
- in the many parks around the country. You will learn about what
makes something valuable and why we need to take care of valuable
things. Then go on a treasure hunt through the National Park Service
web pages to find some of the many special places set aside for
all Americans. As you go, you will learn about the important role
of the National Park Service in preserving our country's
treasures forever.

unit is designed for grades 3-6.
