Task

Scientists must plan their research carefully so that it is both friendly to the environment and as non-invasive as possible. At the same time, it must also yield scientifically valid data that policy makers can use to determine what is best for wilderness. As a scientific representative, you will participate in a Policy Symposium to recommend actions to take concerning placement of the Plate Boundary Observatory (PBO) on Alaska wilderness.

The Plate Boundary Observatories (PBOs) are designed to study the seismic activity across the active boundary zone between the Pacific and North American plates in the western United States. Complete your research into wilderness law; as such, they contribute mainly to important scientific knowledge in general rather than to maintaining or understanding wilderness.
