From the earliest times humans have been seasonally attracted to Denali's remote and elevated country because of the concentrations of wildlife and resources near the Alaska Range. Let's explore the connections that both Alaska Natives and Euro-Americans have to the land at Denali National Park and Preserve. This unit was developed to address National Standards in the areas of Social Studies, History and Geography for online use by students in the middle grades. We hope they will enjoy working with resources that include personal narratives from elders, maps of the Denali area and village histories compiled by residents of those communities.

This unit is designed for grades 5-6.
