There is very little chance that there will ever be any further mining at Kantishna. Therefore the issue of access and which new route should be developed must focus on tourism. In this regard the Northern route offers several advantages: It will allow the vistor more to see and visit more of the park. It will also disperse the people and by making it into a loop visitors will see only the people in their immediate party and will not meet busses returning. The Northern route will allow for a longer toursit season because the area is more open and less constricted thereby allowing effective snow removal.
