Alaska's National Historic Landmarks 2006 Photo Contest

Calling all photographers and photographer wanna-be’s. We need your submissions for the seventh annual National Historic Landmarks (NHL) photo contest.

The National Historic Landmarks designation is the highest such recognition awarded by our nation to historic properties. These are places where significant historical events occurred, or where prominent Americans worked or lived, that represent those ideas that shaped the nation, and that provide important information about our past. To learn about Alaska’s 49 NHLs, and to view last year’s photo contest winners, please click on the appropriate links to your left.

The NHL photo contest is open to everyone who is eighteen years old or older at the time of entry. You may enter as many times as you like. Entries are being accepted until July 28, 2006 with winners being selected on or about September 15, 2006. Winning regional photos will appear in a 2007 calendar.

All contest entries are being submitted to the National Park Service, Northeast Regional Office at: www.nps.gov/nero/nhlphoto
