| Welcome to the History Day in Alaska website, hosted by the National Park Service’s Alaska Regional Office in Anchorage! In the coming weeks and months this will become the primary source of information for teachers and students of the History Day program in Alaska. Results of the 2006 State History Day contest were released April 6th! Twelve junior division winners and fourteen senior division winners from Anchorage, Eagle River, Fairbanks, Haines, and North Pole were eligible to participate in the National contest held at the University of Maryland in College Park, June 11th-15th. Twenty four Alaska students participated in 2006 National History Day contest with impressive results! Twenty two parents, grandparents, teachers, and siblings also attended, making this Alaska’s largest turnout ever. History Day in Alaska thanks Alaska Airlines, the Alaska Historical Society, the Alaska Association for Historic Preservation, the National Park Service Alaska Regional Office, the National Archives and Records Administration-Pacific Alaska Region, and private contributions for their support for History Day in Alaska. The
