Nebraska Wildflower Week is celebrated a month later than National Wildflower Week to highlight the prairie wildflowers that bloom at this time of year. Spring snowstorm moisture gives the wildflowers a head start for blooming during Nebraska Wildflower Week and on through the summer.

During the week as staffing permits, Wildflower walks will be offered daily at 10:00 a.m.

Visitors are encouraged to walk the trails on their own using plant signs on the trails and the herbarium in the visitor center to aid their identification of the blooming wildflowers.

Several wildflower books are available in the Oregon Trail Museum Association bookstore located in the visitor center.
