Centennial Initiative 2016
On August 25, 2006 – the 90th anniversary of the National Park Service – Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne launched the
National Park Centennial Initiative to prepare national parks for another century of conservation, preservation and enjoyment.
In a series of Listening Sessions, the National Park Service went to the people of the United States and asked them for their ideas on how to make the parks great for the next hundred years.

This report has been prepared to provide the General Services Administration and the public with information about the resources of the African Burial Ground in New York City, New York, including potential alternative management frameworks.
