Concession Tours
Concessioners work with the park to provide services to improve your experience in the park. Both bus tours and horse-drawn carriage tours are offered by concessioners.
 

BUS TOURS
If you'd like to sit back and relax as you learn about Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island, a narrated bus tour might be just the activity for you. Beginning and ending in Bar Harbor from May through October, these tours explore the natural and cultural history of the park and surrounding area. Stops include many popular park sights, including Cadillac Mountain.

  • National Park Tours offers 2-1/2 hour narrated bus tours through the park, including three 15-minute stops (one on Cadillac Mountain), from May through October. For reservations and more information, call 207-288-0300 or visit their website.
  • Oli's Trolley offers 1-hour and 2-1/2 hour narrated trolley tours through the park, including a stop at the top of Cadillac Mountain, from May through October. Board trolleys in downtown Bar Harbor. For reservations and more information, call 207-288-9899 or visit their website.
 

CARRIAGE TOURS
Carriages in the Park, Inc., operates Wildwood Stables and provides a variety of carriage tours along the park's scenic carriage roads daily from mid-June to early October. Accessible carriages are available with advanced notice. Wildwood Stables also offers a horse camp for visitors wishing to bring their horses with them. No horseback riding is offered through Wildwood Stables.

Did You Know?
Acadia National Park's carriage road system, built by John D. Rockefeller Jr., has been called “the finest example of broken stone roads designed for horse-drawn vehicles still extant in America.” Today, you can hike or bike 45 miles of these scenic carriage roads in the park.
