SERC - Facilities

A wooden auditorium structure against a blue sky
The John G. Moore Auditorium offers state-of-the-art meeting and presentation space.

With its spectacular setting on the rugged Maine coast and diverse facilities that reflect its past life as a U.S. Navy base, the SERC campus has much to offer researchers and groups.

Lodging
The SERC campus offers a variety of housing units, including 32 Schoodic Shore apartments (2- and 4-bedroom units), four studio apartments, and six 3-bedroom cabins with comfortable lodging for up to 80 overnight guests.

Meeting/Conference Space
Meeting and conference space can be accommodated in the recently completed 10,000-square-foot Moore Auditorium, which has a 125-seat auditorium, two 60-seat break-out meeting/seminar rooms, and state-of-the-art IT and audio-visual facilities. In addition, the Schooner Club is an attractive log building with a warm wood paneled interior. The building has three separate rooms and either can be rented in its entirety or used by up to three separate users. This building also serves as the campus dining facility for groups.

Recreational Facilities
On-site recreational facilities include hiking trails and a ball field. Located nearby but outside the campus gates, you will find a picnic area, fishing pier, more hiking trails, and six-mile, one-way scenic loop road.

Use of Facilities
SERC Institute, a non-profit partner of Acadia National Park, manages the facility operations at SERC and makes the arrangements for rentals. For more information about available facilities and reservation procedures, visit: http://www.sercinstitute.org/
