Curriculum-Based Programs - Fourth Grade

The education staff offers two programs for fourth-grade students, in addition to the residential Schoodic Education Adventure program:

Animals of Acadia (Fall)
“Food, water, shelter, space. Habitat is a wonderful place.” Explore two very different habitats at Acadia National Park. Discover how the state-endangered peregrine falcon and the widespread beaver have adapted to survive in the wild. Free.

Carroll Homestead (Spring)
Find out what it was like to live on Mount Desert Island more than 100 years ago. Includes an inside tour of the Mountain House and a look at the daily life of a local pioneer family. Free.

From atop Cadillac Mountain, the sun is just starting to rise over the Porcupine Islands.  

Did You Know?
Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park is the tallest mountain along the eastern coast of the United States. During certain times of the year, it is the first place in the U.S. to see sunrise.
