Acadia National Park
Special Events for Kids

Each year, the park offers special events for our younger visitors. Both of these events count toward Acadia Quest requirements. Check the schedule for more information about this year's events.

National Junior Ranger Day - April
As part of National Park Week, Acadia National Park and park partners team up annually to offer National Junior Ranger Day. Family groups with children 12 and under are invited to come join in the fun as we explore, learn, and discover how to protect your national park. Bring a lunch and have your own picnic on the lawn, play habitat games, visit a beaver pond, and learn about Acadia`s wildlife, native plants, and human history. Enjoy a hike in the woods. There is no charge to participate; children must be accompanied by an adult.

Family Fun Day - July
Celebrate summer in Acadia! Join Friends of Acadia and park rangers for special field-day activities designed to help kids connect with nature and develop a sense of stewardship for the park. Family Fun Day offers a wide range of activities to suit all interests. Learn more on the Friends of Acadia website.
