Did You Know?
John Garand, an engineer at Springfield Armory, designed the M-1 Rifle used in WWII and the Korean War, the history of which is displayed today at Springfield Armory NHS. He also invented a screw jack and a type of bobbin used in textile mills like those seen in Lowell NHP.
