Our Yearly Recreation Events

 

The events featured on this page are park-sponsored and park-staffed events held in the recreation area with the assistance of cooperating oganizations. These events are generally held every year as staffing, funding, and weather permit. For the exact date this year, see the Schedule of Events.

The park's Lecture Series and Family Fun Days are held yearly.
Many recreation events and programs are held year round at PEEC.
Peters Valley Craft Fair is held at Sussex County Fairgrounds, Augusta NJ.
Additional events are held just outside the park at Grey Towers.

 

EARLY SUMMER

DELAWARE RIVER SOJOURN
Location: all along the Delaware River
Time: about 10 days long in June
Admission: various fees for canoe rental, transportation, etc.
The Sojourn is an annual event begun in 1995, which combines canoeing, camping, and educational programs. It is sponsored by a public partnership of local organizations. The sojourn is held in June, American Rivers Month, to celebrate the diverse resources of the Delaware River and Delaware Valley.

EARLY FALL

"OCTIVITIES"
Time: a Saturday in late October
Location: Millbrook Village NJ | Directions | Map & Guide to Millbrook
Admission: free. Reservations requested.
Octivities is an autumn activities day for children. Buildings are open with tours and demonstrations. Children's activities include pumpkin painting and the making of apple-head and cornhusk dolls. All are welcome to come in costume if they wish.
