Activities which require a Permit

Special Use Permits
The following uses of the park,
among other uses, require that a special use permit be obtained in advance. Some uses also require an application fee, reservations, and other fees.
For further information on these uses, please link to the individual pages for each use:
Weddings and River Baptisms
Exercise of First Amendment Right of Free Speech(No fee)
Commercial filming and photography (See special permit-application forms on the filming permit page.)
Reserving the group picnic site

Reservations for the park's group campsites are managed through another procedure.

If your intended use of the park is not listed above, please contact the Chief Ranger's Office (shown below) to discuss your plans.

Application Process and Cost
For all intended uses of the park, please download the permit application (pdf) on the page which pertains to your intended use of the park, fill out the application, and send it with the application fee (if there is one for your particular use of the park) to the Chief Ranger's Office listed below.

IF an application fee is required, a non-refundable processing fee of $50.00 must accompany the application, in the form of a cashiers check, money order, or personal check in the amount of $50.00 made payable to DOI/National Park Service.
PLEASE  NOTE: the form submitted is an application only and the fee is an application fee only; the form and/or the fee do not constitute a permit.

Federal procedures (31 USC 7701)require your Social Security Number or Tax Identification Number on the back of all checks or money orders accepted for deposit in the amount of $50.00 or more. You must supply your Social Security Number or Tax Identification Number in order for your check to be accepted and your application to be processed.

Your information on the application will be used to determine whether a permit will be issued. You will be notified of the disposition of the application and the necessary steps to secure your final permit. Please allow at least four (4) business days for processing. If your request is approved, a permit containing applicable conditions and regulations will be sent to the person that you have designated on the application. The permit must be signed and returned to the park prior to the event.

(PLEASE NOTE: the $50.00 is an application fee; there may be additional charges, and you may be required to provide proof of liability insurance.)

A ranger taking a sample of water from a creek

Did You Know?
... that the Middle Delaware River exceeds ordinary federal standards for clean water. Because of this, special higher standards have been set for the river, so it does not "deteriorate" to being just "clean enough." The river in this park is, and will remain, truly "cleaner than clean."
