Toms Creek Picnic Area
GPS 41.126817 -74.955121

This trail heads west on an old roadbed alongside the creek for about a mile before ending at creek side. This first mile is a flat stroll, ideal for small children.
About 1/2 mile along the trail, a footpath climbs the wooded slope on the right up to the millpond of Egypt Mills. From here Big Egypt Road, recently abandoned for auto usewill lead back down to Toms Creek Road for a loop hike of about 2 miles.
Directions
Toms Creek is on a parallel road off the west side of Route 209.
Look for signs on Route 209. Going north on 209, bear left onto Little Egypt Road between mileposts 4 and 5 and continue straight. Going south on 209, turn right between mileposts 6 and 5 and continue straight. Route 209 is a state highway: signal your turn, check your rearview mirror, and turn with caution.

Hidden Lake Trail
GPS 41.050587 -75.053237

Several old dirt roadways and footpaths circle this quiet lake on a fairly level walk of about 2 miles. From Hidden Lake Picnic Area, start a counterclockwise tour from the south end of the beach and picnic area parking lot, and stay on slightly higher ground away from the lakeshore. On the west shore of the lake, pass an old lodge and follow its access road north. Turn west to follow the lakeshore. Cross the footbridge to the path on top of the dam to return to the beach and picnic area.
Directions
Hidden Lake Road is roughly parallel to River Road, but farther inland from
the river. From the traffic light on Route 209 at the Fernwood Resort in Bushkill PA, turn east (a right turn if northbound) onto River Road and continue 1.5 miles around a sharp turn to the right. Bear immediately right onto Hidden Lake Road.
From River Road, continue past park headquarters on the right 300 yards and then turn very hard right onto Hidden Lake Road.
Once on Hidden Lake Road, continue 2.25 miles, past a small parking area on the left along the dam, to the picnic area entrance on the left, which has a sign.

Sketch of a hand underwater and reaching for a life jacket

Did You Know?
... chief causes of water fatalities on the Delaware River are: (1) swimming without a lifejacket (PFD); (2) trying to swim across the river; and (3) swimming after drinking lots of alcohol. Wear a pfd and swim at lifeguarded beaches. DON'T drink-then-swim! NEVER TRY TO SWIM ACROSS THE RIVER!
