Camping

Curecanti has eleven campgrounds for visitors to choose from. There are several more campsites that are accessible by boat. East Portal Campground is accessed through Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, but lies within the boundary of Curecanti National Recreation Area.

Camping Outside the Park

Camping may be available in private campgrounds or on other public lands nearby.

Visitors can use watercraft to reach boat-in campsites on each reservoir.

 

Lodging and Dining

There are no restaurants or lodges in Curecanti National Recreation Area. No food is available. The nearest restaurants and hotels are in Montrose, CO, or Gunnison, CO.

Picnic Areas

Picnic areas are first come, first served areas for day use only. All picnic areas have vault toilets; some have fire grates. Pack out or properly dispose of any food waste and trash. Help protect park wildlife by not feeding animals or leaving food scraps behind.
