Attend a free ranger program during your visit to Zion National Park. These talks highlight information about the landscapes, plants, animals, and history that make Zion special. You can check the schedule at the bottom of this page or by downloading the NPS App. Read descriptions of programs below.

Summer Programs

Zion Canyon Visitor Center Patio Talks

Discover the survival secrets of desert plants and animals, learn how the geologic scenery came to be, hear the human history of the park, and more.
Daily programs are scheduled for:

Zion Human History Museum Patio Talks

Enjoy a short ranger talk on the shaded back patio of the Zion Human History Museum.
Daily programs are scheduled for:

  • 10:30 am
  • 4:00 pm

Watchman Guided Hike

Join a ranger to ascend the moderate Watchman Trail to a scenic overlook. This program requires free advanced registration at the Visitor Center front desk. The hike can be up to 3.5mi (5.6km) long with an elevation change of 368ft (112m).
Daily program scheduled for:
  • 7:30 am

Ride With A Ranger

Explore Zion Canyon on a 2-hour ranger-led bus ride with special stops along the way. This program requires free advanced registration at the Visitor Center front desk. Come prepared for hot temperatures.

Watchman Campground Evening Program

Attend a ranger talk after the sun sets at the outdoor Watchman Campground Amphitheater and learn about what makes Zion such a special place.
Daily program scheduled for:
  • 9:00 pm

Zion Lodge Evening Program

Attend a ranger talk in the evening at the auditorium at Zion Lodge and learn about what makes Zion such a special place.

Zion Nature Center & Junior Ranger Programs

The Zion Nature Center opened for the season on May 24, 2024. Nature Center open hours are from 12 pm to 5 pm, daily. Ranger-led programs designed for Junior Rangers will be offered at the Nature Center daily at 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm.

This interactive site is a perfect place to learn about the geology, animals, and history of Zion. Explore different habitats, listen to bird songs and canyon tree frog calls, and watch flash flood videos in this historic building. The Nature Center is located near the South Campground. Limited parking in front of the Nature Center.

The Nature Nature can be accessed via the Pa’rus Trail, but due to construction in South Campground, the path is not ADA compliant or stroller friendly.

Junior Ranger Activity Booklets are available at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center, the Human History Museum and the Zion Nature Center.
